“MS User,” a solo exhibition by MFA candidate Anisha Baid, reflects on digital culture, gender, and technocapitalism, as seen through her lens from the Global South. The exhibition is on view at 820 Gallery in Pittsburgh October 13 through February 18.
Across video, installation, and performance, Baid investigates themes of loneliness, isolation, and the feminization of labor, while simultaneously subverting these ideas through appropriation and comedy. In doing so, she uses humor as a tool against capitalism, and challenges the very power structures we exist within by providing new and irreverent perspectives around contemporary workplace culture.
